I went with a pretty thin coating on my new rig (which is pretty BTW) and my cpu temps are reading around 36 degrees celcius... (it's 80 farenheit in my room)
that seems a touch high... 20 degrees hotter than my room when idle?
any advice from anyone?

you dont need alot...if you put on alot, you can actually block heat distribution.

Dude, I get 50 degrees C overclocking 3.0ghz to 3.3.

yeah you're fine.
but be careful not to put too much on. just a very thin layer will do.
