I am considering starting playing the Eve Online. However, I am wondering do you guys and girls enjoy playing it and how much do you play it daily. I am worried that I will spend too much time playing it. How long do you play it, per day? I do not want to start playing it, and to forget all about my duties and obligations. I never played online multiplayer game, so do not know how it will affect me.

It is very addictive. I sometimes have the problem to get out of it, so I spend excessively much time playing it daily. It is my case, so I will not talk in the name of other players. This is because someone could say that there are not playing as much as me. The moment I first created my character is going to be with me all my life. I will never forget it. It was so good experience to create a character, start the first quest, and to finish it. Eve Online is like a drug. Once you taste it, you will never get of it. Accordingly, be careful what you do with this strong stuff.

Thats a great thing about EVE Online. Yes, its as addictive as WoW, but in the long run - it doesnt require as much playing time to advance your character. Your toon is learning skills even when you dont play him! So the only reason you play is to either farm ISK (which is super easy and doesnt require much time once you can farm lvl 4 missions) or have fun PVPing =)

EVE is like any other method of escapist activity that people use to separate themselves from RL junk. It's like that book you just can't put down, or that movie that's soooo awesome you hold your bladder until it's ready to burst.
if you don't have self-discipline, then you may wish to carefully evaluate your interest.
And for goodness sake, if you're in a relationship....you better hope they like the game too. LOL

as mentioned above, the skilling system was one of the reason why i started eve online you don't need to stay in front of the PC to advance with your charr - just activate a skill and enjoy your real life. And when you have the feeling that you wana play PC - just start eve and make a mission or sth

It's just as addictive and time consuming as any other game, so keep that in mind.
However there is less variety in what you have access to as a new player... so you might get bored and end up not doing much.
Can't really "travel" and "explore", as you'd think. It only consists of jump gates and warping. There isn't much else.
Walk-in stations might liven it up later down the road.
