Was just thinking of actually how long i've been playing EQ on and off, and it seems a long f*****g time now.
Rasil schmoozed the assistant Producer at Comdex for Beta2 CD's. Calls me up and says "How much do you like me?".. hehe. Couldn't believe he got em.
Anyhow, was just curious if there are some extreme long time players around.

I didnt get in Beta 3 i was kinda p****d, but made beta 4 and I played till about 6 months ago, still have my accounts, just incase 
im in beta galore right now though. :/

I was in beta 4 and played intill close to kunark, I had a 50 warrior.

Planetside is just starting beta 1 like 50 or so people, im in beta 2 ill let you know how it is once im playing

I was in phase .5 beta. It was about 6 weeks before phase one started. I had to do a phone interview before i was accepted. I still have my phase 1-4 disks around somewhere, not sure what happened to my .5 disk.
Was only about 50 accounts out when i got in and max people in game was about 20

How'd you guyz here about EQ that early in and get into Beta? Were you like, gamerz?
I've only ever played EQ and I didn't come in until Jan 2001 
But I was in boot-camp and training durring EQ's release, so there's no way I could've heard about it let alone play.

i heard about EQ as a cover story from PCGamer magazine and later got in phase 4 after tailing it using mainly eqvault .. (the eq website was horrible compared to it .. like most games surprisingly)
the early game shots .. and even very very early movies (or i think it was just 1 movie) (from early beta - alpha) looked really really ... REALLY s****y .. heh ..
but the release at the time of the game it was pretty good .. graphically i mean ..
the only problem is they really f****d up the ability to make modifications and upgrades in the game because they f****d up the coding so that it wasn't easily modified .. which is a problem sony has pretty much fixed now but it still has it's underlying crap that forces the game to have certain graphic / gameplay drawbacks =\

3 and 4 beta don,t play anymore and wouldn,t waste anytime playing game your can,t win which has too many timesinks ...flags lvl etc

I'm still around.. started during phase 2 beta. Was neat having a nearly empty server. No spoiler sites and few knew what they were doing so every day you learned/discovered something new.

What was your guy's p1 ,2, and 3 names? Since there were so few people, would be easy to recognise.
I started at the end of p2 on a friend's account that I met when he came into my store. Was still 989 studios, based out of Menlo Park or San Mateo (dont remember). I got my own account at the beginning of p3. I played a de sk named Daemona.

Phase 2 I used the name Kudan, a barbarian warrior. Only got him to about level 7-8.
After that I played Vort, an ogre warrior, got him to around level 20.

Al,
Eve is really tough learning what to do and how to Do it,
there seems to still be a few Bugs I keep getting disconnected after like 20-30 mins.
Its a little off beat from the type of games I really like so Im doing more test playing then Fun playing.
so far only Messing around in game It looks good and has been pretting interesting.
the Game really demands a good learning period before you can even think of really playing it I found myself making my Toon then getting in the game and saying "ok what do I do now?"
With some reading up on game play im sure the game will draw in a lot of space craft/ outer space RP people.

I learned my lesson, and it's not that I hate EQ, it's just that there are so many better things to do with life then play the same game 6-12hrs a day.

Beta 4... I tried a lot of classes, getting each one up to like lvl 4-5 to try and see which class I wanted to be in final. I finally stuck with a wood elf ranger and played him to like lvl 9. His name was Riverdream.
