there is this hosting company http://www.1and1.com that is offering 3 years free hosting, 500 mb disk space, and 5 GB a month bandwidth (.99$ for each extra gig over your limit).
how much is 5 gigs heh, i just wanna use it for hosting picts, maybe some zip files, resume, etc.

At my peak, using tons of pictures here, i was able to consume 2gb of bandwidth in one month. You should use much less than that unless you post large pictures all the time. Most of my pictures are .jpg of sizes less than 200k.

5 gigs is quite a bit if you're just hosting small files.. just to give you an idea, image.blobbynet.com, in august, transferred 6.32 GB. there were 225042 hits for images. realpoor isn't gonna take up nearly that much. really, the big thing you have to watch for is if you put up a funny movie file or something, and post it on realpoor, if someone on realpoor goes around posting it around the web, that 5GB can get eaten up quick.

thats what i was thinking could happen.
Their site doesnt make it clear if you can shut down access to your files after 5 GB or not..
I mean if you had a site and it got slashdoted (highly unlikely for me but ..) you could be left with 100$ bill for that month.

Eventually, i'll start up again. The problem is most of my pictures are poorly sorted, with NWS mixed into all of my index pages. I cannot view NWS stuff (im not supposed to at least) at work anymore so i'm avoiding browsing my collection from work. I still have no internet connection at home either, so that makes it impossible to post pictures.
