Eve is probably the most difficult game in terms of combat because it is difficult to gauge if the combat you enter will net you a victory or a loss. Smaller ships are able to destroy larger ships, and not just because they might outnumber the larger ships. The main specialization in eve in terms of combat is "fitting" or selecting which modules (guns, armor, propulsion, drones) your ship will contain and how you will use them. These are only the factors when you go to pew pew another ship. There is a whole new world when you enter actual combat if you fly under an FC (titled a Fleet Commander) in a proper corporation/alliance since it is basically a military-style command structure (the FC will call out commands, orders, ask for intel from certain people, and most importantly designate targets of attack) where you need to listen up and follow orders or everyone in the fleet might get killed.
This isnt WoW where you just mash fireball, sinister strike and know that your class and spec will most likely kill the other guy's class and spec. But you usually get more combat/kills per hour in WoW than eve.
