|
|
|
I googled it, and got many different answers. Just to let you guys know, I'm planning on selling a WoW account.
Okay, first off, does Western Union require me to have a bank account, or just show up to a Western Union office and get the money he sent me?
Second, in a trade such as this, when do I actually hand my account information over to the guy? Will I have the money when I do or....?
Please help. I plan on making a big sale.

i was actually wondering this stuff myself .. as i am going to be selling my account soon and am pretty skeptical of doing so ;/
i read a ton of the info on this site and it seams western union is one of the more legit ways to do this type of transaction..seams a lot of folks been getting scammed through paypal and such so i want to make sure i do it the safest way possible as i am sure you do too..
i was also looking for info as to exactly when you give your account info etc and didn't really find anything detailing those exact steps ^ ^
good luck getting the answers i will be checking this post as well hoping for some..

Well, I PM'd a Moderator of the sales forum, and I did alot of research, and I believe this is how it works.
1. Man tells a WU agent who he wants the cash he is giving him for, and provides the recipients Address, Full name, and I think maybe Phone Number.
2. You go to your local Western Union, show them your ID, and maybe MTE number (Which is given during the transaction) and you get the cash.
3. You give him your account info.
Now I asked him, doesn't this put me in a position to be a possible scammer? He said no, because police can be called and maybe a court charge brought up if they have enough evidence. I guess WU woud have both the man's addresses....
Idk if this is true...I need to confirm it with other people.

I have used Western Union many times, its very easy.
I have used it to sell World of Warcraft accounts.
You may send money either over the internet with a credit card or actually going to an agent and giving them cash.
The two parties will need to switch First / Last names, City and States
Once the money is sent, the sender must give the receiver the MTCN (Money Transfer Control number) as they won't be able to recieve it without it.
Receiver fills out a form with senders name etc etc and gets the money on the spot (unless its over 500$)
Simple as that!

What kind of fees does Western Union charge? I've heard it's pretty spendy, that's why I've stayed away so far. I do like the idea of safety though.

I am wondering the same thing as Dprv. What are the fees for the transfers, withdrawls, etc. PayPal charges alot as well, but maybe WU is better.

@ Dprv:
Fees vary from location to location, but on their website you can easily find an estimate. It's not a lot considering safety of the transaction, as well as speed & reliability.

Would you recommend WU over paypal if the the paypal user is registered? I'm selling an account for the first time, and am trying to decide which way is better.

WU is better imo if you want to sell accounts.
It's too easy for scammers to cancel the payment via Paypal but they can never do that via WU.
WU is very easy to use. It usually only take around 1hr to receive the money. However the charge of WU is kinda high comparing to Paypal.
