How do you stop Messenger Service popup?

I get one every 5 mins or so even when I play games any way to get rid of them?
What OS?
right click My computer
then click on manage
then go to
services and applications
then go to
services (you will see it on the right)
scroll down till you see messenger
go to start up type and disable it and hit stop under service status
then click on manage
then go to
services and applications
then go to
services (you will see it on the right)
