I once read that EVE Online would be great if the game world was better designed. Is it true that it is even not big enough? I am in the process of choosing what MMORPG to play. The EVE is one of my favorites, but I do not know about the city design. I know that there are many lies circling the internet, and I need to have proven information. The world design can be very important to some players, because they like to looks of them.

You have read the correct information. Game world design in Eve Online is the best that was ever developed and designed and it has one of the biggest ones in any MMO game. The details are just fantastic. Graphic designers did brilliant job with this and I hope that they will have many more successes as this one. In addition, the developers made this world almost like the real ones. You can find anything you want. I will never forget my amazement when I first saw the universe of Eve Online world. It just cannot be described with words. You must see that with your eyes. You must start to play this game immediately.

Only downside is 0.0 fleet battles where you can have 30minute load-times to load a system because of the hundreds that are in the queue on the jumpbridge, not to mention all the lag that is "created" in-system by an invading fleet. Gets pretty bad at times depending the the alliances involved.

They call it Blobbing.

Yeah EVE is pretty big, there is enough place for anything you want to do. You won't have any problem with that.

Still the best MMO out there IMHO, even if I'm quitting now. Cool

They're working on the issues with too many people in one system at one time. The devs are doing some truely innovative stuff with stackless programming and a predictive physics model working off some chaos theory based concepts.

The last coun iirc, was 6300 systems. With an average travel time non-afk from one end to the other of over 2 hours.

The world of EVE, seen in a mmorp perspective is ENORMOUS!

The 2 hours figure is wrong. I think it will take you at least 8 hours if you don't get killed. The world is huge, but there are no cities at all. Only stations, maybe you can walk in them in the next expansion. Expansions are free in Eve.

2 hours approx is not wrong. It does however very much change if you take into consideration shiptype etc etc etc. And yes, if you dont get killed Very Happy

If you want to get from one end (deep south-east) to another (north-west), you will have to start in 0.0 space, travel through empire and end up in another 0.0 space. Some warps are long and take minutes themselves, jumping takes time too, aligning too, yes it depends on the ship but i doubt even a ceptor could make it in 2 hours.

Same here.

Its huge and confusing in the start, but all the effort trying to understand the game really pays of.
Gotta wonder how long it will take visting every single system in EVE Shocked
