I wondered the same thing in SWG. You had 4 (6?) planets, each as huge as West Karana * 50, and all kinds of people spamming, "Come see my house! It's at this waypoint! Lol! Cya in 2 hours!"

Housing is so f*****g stupid.
OMG LOOK MY ONLINE HOUSE LOOK BETTER THEN MY APPARTMENT!
Really stupid.
Guild house...or maybe but whats the point of other people can set it on fire or dommage it or steal? the fun part is to defend it not to show off...

guild housing is great. if it was actually in a place that was easy to get to for people. who wants to run 5 zones to sell loot when you can just gate to your home town and enter your 1 br house.

And have each guild have their own shop/vendors/sellers.
Would force other people to visit other guild's home and you can make them pay a tax for shopping at your guild home lol.

It's a fun&fluff feature, a lot of people enjoy the real estate aspect, just adds another dimension of customization as to what you can do within the world. /shrug
brings me back to days on The Realm when townies would have house partys and shit that would totally suck most of the time but occasionally you'd find someone who'd made an original design or creation with items in their house... people who had dropped colored robes in such a pattern to create a swimming pool with a path and grass around it etc... already people in eq2 are posting pics of cool shit they've made with the items available... all kinds of people have these crazy fireplace designs, because there is no "fireplace" item to put in your house, but people have stacked items like Legos to make fireplaces out of lamps bookshelves and shit...
It certainly doesnt add +5 to dragon slaying, but its a fun way to waste some time

Everyone who buys an item from me gets to see my house (people actually leave me tells saying how they like what I did). And being creative is fun. Stacking furniture to build a nice fireplace was actually some what challenging.
It's just something to do while you're not killing (f**k tradeskills).
And wtf, how does yer apartment in EQ look better then your irl house? =P

w***e =P
But my house is grey because its the level 1 newbie apartment. And it has stone walls.
The more expensive houses have like very nice dark wood walls and stuff.
I've seen some really nice high end stuff with the better furniture.
But I like my house, cool to come back after adventuring, set up merchant behind my bar, and know people will have a nice place to see when they come buy my stuff.
I just consider it on the same level as tradeskilling.

cute place inuy thanks for postin em.
i <3 my house! its the best part of the game for me...
do you know what its like to live with a person irl who likes to constantly re arrange furnature and re arrange it every couple months cause they get bored an/or want a *new look*.
not easy to do irl trust me my hubbys poor back!
in eq2 ya can click pick up a bed move it here dump this there re arrange adjust accordingly ect ect.. hell i love my room. two bedrooms full atm though /cry
wish i could afford a 3 br but ong qeynos is sooo expensive! if i knew about 7 freedom long ago i would have defected and moved there.
wheres a good place to host free pics? i have a dozen ss of my room, ill post em up.
*btw* people do see my place.
vallant my vender mule sits on the toddler bed that matches the crib and sells crap while im out playing. people come to the room to buy stuff, people also randomly visit and look around from time to time (i always leave visitor access on so anyone can drop in).
an very oddly, a few times people have stopped in and said wow great room my friend that told me to come see it was right its beautiful, or great job ect ect. (makes me happy in the face for real)
i dont do it for others or for compliments or attention.. i do it cause i LIKE it alot. its my virtual home where i can do things like decorate an entire wall with weapons unlike irl lol!
i <3 my room.. just wtb a baby dragon!

I thought it was humourous. Silly frog, is that thing a damn Epiphone? If so, that guitar sucks.
Just saying, go buy a real house man, fek an ingame house.
All that b******g and whining about endgame and I never took you for a playing Barbie or Sims type of mentality is all.
Unless you like playing barbie or sims...or whatever... /shrug, to each their own.

Yes except saying "haha newb, you have a game house, go buy a real one!", isn't funny.
It's like saying "Silly newb, don't kill lions in game! kill them irl!".
It's just a part of a game. I'm sorry if you thought it was funny.
And since when do people have to be stuck on singular thing. Like my raiding has anything to do with putting together a house in a game? It took me all of 30 minutes to design it. And about a week of buying furniture (or getting it made by tradeskillers) when i was done adventuring for the day.
Actually, why the hell am i explaining this to you, you don't seem to have even played EQ2, so I dunno why yer commenting.
Btw, you can't see it, but my guitar has a blade on the side, and i kill stuff with it. So i went with the cheap guitar. =P
