I mean, is that it? There's nothing faster, like flying mounts and stuff like that? I'm pretty sure the previews showed some of those…
How expensive are the mounts, anyway? Are they hard to get otherwise, besides the price I mean? Are they used just for transport (cf Guild Wars) or can you ride them anywhere?

There most certainly are non-horse mounts, though I haven't had one myself. I did get a horse, though. They are not expensive, and I think I had one since level 11 or so, if that means anything to you. About flying mounts, I think you can get griffons, pegasuses (Pegases? Pegasee? Whatever, the winged horse thingies) etc.
