Four Jordanian hostages wait at a house of a tribal sheikh after their release in an overnight raid in the city of Falluja, August 4, 2004. The hostages were freed by Iraqi gunmen who raided their captors' hide-out, one of the released captives said. (Mohammed Khodor/Reuters)

Kickass. Iraqi's are going to start owning the terrorists who are waging war on their country. We need more of this.

The terrorists in Iraq have shifted their focus away from American soldiers (who have been killed at a rate of about 1.3/day for the past 2 months) and toward Iraqi civilians (who have been targeted en masse since the turnover) and their new government. It's only a matter of time before enough of their own are killed before they wage their own war against terror. Iraq will be a powerful ally with us. The UN made a big mistake.

Turning sovereignty over to the Iraquis was one of the best decisions we made. It wasn't perfect, but I think it dramatically changed the perception of our presence.

The problem is the complete lack of patience on both sides.. in the US and in Iraq. When this is all said and done I think it will be remembed a lot better than people make it out to be over the last 18 months. Most of the whining has been political b******t from people who voted TO ALLOW US TO INVADE and then when it got ugly decided they didn't want to play anymore.

Well, that's not entirely true Frax. The political b******t is from the methodology behind the invasion and how it will reflect back to the birth of the Iraq transformation.
I do agree that there is a lot of impatience regarding the process and I will even stand behind that going forward things will be much better if the populace of Iraq will support the new system. BUT getting from a to b was very sloppy and stubbed a lot of toes.
Lest this turn too political I will say it bodes well that the Iraq force is stepping up.

I agree with this as well, since it's pretty much dead on. These people grow more annoyed with the misfits as time goes on, so they're more likely to understand why something must be done.
