Okay so im going to be setting up a home theater in the neat future. I have decided to go for a front projector as the screen. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on models I should look into. Id need 1018i support and a reasionable VGA resolution. Oh Also im wondering about projectors that support wide aspect....

Might I suggest you gather around $50,000 and call my dad up to set you up something like this bad boy sitting in my living room:
It is the awesome beyond all awesome you could possibly find consumer buyable.

If that's rear projection, and I think it is, then the 50k estimate is way over inflated. I had a rig like that set up that filled my whole garage side wall and I'm sure it wasn't over 3k. Pimp sound and you MIGHT get close to 8k if your pay a jack ass to rape you for it. Since your dad is an uber cool thecno geek I'm thinking he didn't spend more thn 10k if he was smart about it.
50k for that I would expect from Meal after his lottery winnings...

yeah, rear projection
the screen was an assload .. plus all the extra shit like prototype amps from certain people he knows who design them and whatnot .. and everything he designs he needs to get custom built (speaker cabinets, the system cabinet itself)
he didnt pay that much for it but thats how much hed ask to build another one ^_^ .. all in all after all expenses its about $20k + the endless hours hes spent building / f*****g with it

very nice
for the price range the Samsung offers outstanding quality and value. They're stuff has come WAY up in quality over the past few years and Samsung has some of the best comsumer grade video on the market atm.
Personally if I weren't going with a Zenith I would pick a Samsung in a heart beat.
Since we're starting this again *laughs* please...
If I don't respond right away to a question PM me that there's a comment here for me...it's our first anniversary this weekend and I may miss a few posts *grin*

If he actually paid that much, he WAY overpaid. I put in a 119" (Almost 10 feet!) motorized widescreen that descends from my ceiling, put in a Sony VPL-VW10HT (it's an out of date model now, but I put it in a couple years ago. Theyre' up to the VPL-VW12HT now) front HDTV projector, surround sound (which isn't that great, but even the highest end speakers wouldn't drive up the price that much), a shelf for my electronics in the wall, hidden wires, etc. for only about $5,000.
I have had a good experience with the sony and have watched many movies on it (saw Kill Bill last night!). The only problem I've ever had was the light bulb burning out, which cost me $550. It's bright, native widescreen and the image is very crisp. I highly recommend this setup as it was only a little more than a typical big screen TV, but orders of magnitude better. Despite its size, it uses no floor space whatsoever (as the screen retracts into the ceiling). I measured the floor space so that sitting on the sofa provides an equivalent experience to sitting in the center seat of a movie theater, and it really does feel that way. It wasn't an easy project, but I had fun doing it. If you need any details, PM me.

Okay well ive done a lil more research, and I have decided to stay on the lower end of projectors (at least till im outa school heh.) Anyway, Ive looked around and so far a few models interest me, the InFocus X1 seems to be verry good bang for the buck at the lowest end, also the BenQ PB7100 seems good. I know Tam has recomended agenst InFocus. Mind you my primary use will be in gaming, DVDs coming next. Not enough games take advantage of wide aspect for that to be too importent but I do like it for DVDs. A lil higher up is the BenQ PB6200 to give an idea at the ranges im looking at atm...
