After playing the hacked alpha for about 3hrs i can say im getting this game, hell, i didnt need the quests and shit to win me over i just randomly teleported to a location and had a look around. There was always something cool within 30 seconds of me.
Two of the cooler things were this HUGE tree with a portal on it. I had seen the portal in released screenshots but seeing it for yourself is totally different.
The other one was this HUGE tower/fortress thing. I assume its high level content because the inside was missing a lot of textures but im not kidding, running to the top alone took me AT LEAST 5 minutes, and not that exagerated 5 minutes that you get when your bored, over a proper 5 minutes im sure. At the top one room had a big telescope in it, if you go up higher you come to a room with stairs to a second level that has a big circular platform, im guessing you fight the boss there, and the circle is pretty large so either the boss is huge, or you need a lot of people. This wasnt in an instanced area either becaues i found a few places that were obviously where instances started and you just come to a dead end.
The screenshots dont do this game justice because i wasnt too impressed with them. But actually being in the game and seeing how huge everything is, is quite amazing.

dude.. theres a bad ass dark portal somewhere in the barren red sand lookin area.... i got that alpha thing too... yea the game is f*****g pretty... i found a dungeon thats like in the water... but not under... kinda cool

Too much money riding on WoW for Blizzard to ignore hacks forever like they do on diablo the war/starcraft series. I wouldn't worry about it to much yet, this game is still a ways from release.

yeah. ive seen aztec looking ruins and dungeons all over the place.
found a thing that looks like a mexican pyramid with either a banquet table, or sacrificial alter at the top, then i came across an aztec area with big jade dog statues and around the corner was a big blue force-field kinda thing i couldnt reach.
And near that big tower was these three tall statues and in between them was a big pentagram drawn on the ground, but the textures for the pentagram area hadnt been finished.
The two instances ive found, 1 was near the pentagram, and looks like it will be an orcish cave, there was meat hanging from hooks an shit at the entrance and looked like an orc barrow.
other one was inside a crypt, looked cool.

the main point is that there is this cool shit all over the place, so hopefully they have something interesting at each one.
Found a place that looks like stonehenge as well, i think there are 3 other ones too, called summoning circles or something like that when i went near them.

After a couple years of playing WoW, whats going to keep you interested, game dynamics or the graphics?
I'm hoping for a good experience as far as mechanics go, I'd hate to play WoW and just have another game where I'm looking at pretty pictures while I'm cursing some f****d up imbalance.

I did that when alpha was first leaked over a friends and i about laughed my ass off.
Gnomes clearly will be the best race. The f*****g facial setup for them is own too w/ all the funny facial hair.

What are you talking about, EQ was hacked pretty fast too, way before Kunark even, the only reson it wasn't done faster is becuase no one really tried that hard and mmorpgs were still sort of a new thing. I know for a fact that I loaded up an emulator to look through kunark zones before it came out.

It wasn't a hack it was a database f**k up regarding pie tins of all things.
If you bought a pie tin before a certin patch and then sold it back after the patch you would make 10x the previouse value so people were staking there accounts, mules and all with stacks upon stacks of pie tins.
I didn't do it but I remeber folks that did.

That was not either, there was a corpse dupe. But you are right it was more of a glitch then a hack.
