My reason for being Republican is I agree with about 80% of their platform, and 10% of the Democratic party's platform. With Republicans in office, the nation at least stands a chance since the US is entering what I believe to be the "barbarians at the gate" phase. Rome was widdled away in the same way.

No, in Communism your grades wouldn't matter as long as you passed. In this case they still matter but she'd be carrying the weight of the underachievers, regardless of them passing or not.
