Parts were, parts weren't. It was changed more to appeal to the general audience than anything. They are in this to make money afterall. The changes they made were good though. The POV ray was just awesome.

As far as Elf goes, I still want to know wtf a shower is doing in a department store.

Was just an OK movie for me, I felt the TV Series was better as they had time to go into more details about the little things like space, alchohol and such.
I do hope they go on to make the rest of the books.

Loved this movie.
Been humming "So Long and Thatnks for All the Fish" today.
I got a diffrent message when I saw the movie than I did reading the book. Glad they left a lot of the book stuff out so that whenI read it again there is still stuff to enjoy.
The Guide won the box office weekend, biggest Arpil film ever for Buena Vista.

It was enjoyable. I think it could have been much better though. The dialog is what made Hitchhiker's guide funny, and in the movie they trimmed it down a ton in favor of physical humor. Maybe it wouldn't have translated well to the screen, but they cut out a lot of funny dialog from the book, so I didn't think the movie was nearly as funny as the book. Visually, they did a very nice job with it though.

because I know you want to know:

So long and thanks for all the fish.
So sad that it should come to this.
We tried to warn you all but, oh dear.
You may not share our intellect,
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that grow around you.
So long, so long, so long and thanks for all the fish.
The world's about to be destroyed,
There's no point getting all annoyed.
Lie back and let the planet dissolve.
Despite those nets and tuna fleets
We thought that most of you were sweet.
Especially tiny tots and your pregnant women.
So long (x a lot) and thanks for all the fish.
If I could have one last wish, I would like a tasty fish.
If I could just change one thing, we would all have learned to sing.
(Followed by a strange group operetta or something)
So long (x a lot) and thanks for all the fish.
