"I can only imagine that this is what Hiroshima looked like 60 years ago," said Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour after touring the destruction by air Tuesday.
whereas i'm a believer that the bomb actually saved more lives in the long run than it cost. i have to believe that you are one of the stupidest people on the planet to compare this hurricane to the bomb.
one is a natural disaster, shit happens. the other is mankind enforcing his will upon another. one cost around 125 or so lives atm. the other cost millions.

80k comes to my mind for death toll from the bomb itself over the course of a few weeks (radiation poisoning). I could be wrong

There was something weird about the comparisons being made tho. So far I've seen comparisons to the tsunami that flattened Thailand, Baghdad and Hiroshima. Not really sure how I feel about any of them, none of them are accurate.

No but people tend to grab onto something 'familiar' for traction when making these types of statements. 99.9% of us have never lived thru a tsunami or a nuclear explosion or a hurricane this size.

More people died in that human stampede in Baghdad, then probably will have died due to Katrina...or very close to it.
BTW, that stampede was more effective then an actual suicide bomber.

He isn't saying that the hurricane is like a nuclear bomb. He's saying that the leftover areas looks similar.
