I was pulled over on the PA Turnpike today by a state trooper.

Charge is x'd at "Maximum Speed Limits"
going 90 in a 55, clocked on Radar.
$195 fine... anyway, here's a question.

Remarks/Subpoena List says "LL". wondering what that is.
Also, at the bottom in part 63 it has Stop printed. He put a one under it. then under Obs. there's a zero. And finally, Speed Detec. Type is one again. I guess that just means radar, but I was wondering what the other stuff is.

And finally... Any idea on what kind of points I can expect? He didn't tell me that.

Serves me right for racing home to catch the Soprano's... I'll just watch it on On Demand tomorow =/

The worst part is, I was going a steady 75 the whole time home, up until this guy decided to pull infront of me and go 65 when there were plenty of other lanes open (I was in the fast lane), so I dropped it down a gear and stepped on it to pass him. that's when he clocked me.

Oh well, hindsight is everything... I didn't bother explaining the "passing" to him.

Thats a hefty ticket, here in michigan that would be 4 to 6 pts depending on how it was wrote. Might be better to call a lawyer or 2 in the area, even if you have to pay one $500 its worth it if they can't get the points knocked off and just pay the fine. You will pay way more then that in insurance the next 3 years if not.

You should have told the cop you were trying to catch the Soprano's and I bet he would have let you off. Kbarr would have been like "DUDE I LOVE THAT SHOW" and slapped you on the back and told you to be careful.

I honestly didn't even have a chance. He came over and instantly asked for license, registration & insurance. I gave him all of those and he walked away. next time he came back, he had the ticket in hand.

Once a state trooper pulls you over, you're getting a ticket usually.

They're pretty much like that in VA and FL at any rate. And when I worked for the VA State Police, that's how they were, and what they said..if they pull you over, you're getting one.

Dunno if i told this before but it fits in

true and scary story: Some names have been changed to protect the guilty

Me and my friend and a buddy of his were on our way to Raleigh N.C. to see a Led Zep cover band concert. We had been smoking most of the afternoon and it was about 9:00 on a friday night. The highway was ours no car in sight!!! So we smoked a blunt and got a nice buzz going to get us in the mood. About half way there My buds want to roll another blunt. So one of them splits the blunt and throws the shit in the floor board and the other starts to break up the green. About half way through the process we see BLUE LIGHTS!

OMG OMG! my heart was pumpin like hell I was like OH SHIT! i'm 18 i'm to young to go to jail and get my ass penetrated!

We all do the worst thing possible! Move franticly in the ford ranger. Putting the weed under the seat and rolling down the windows.

The truck is wreaking of pot because we had never put the window down from smoking before.

We pull over and the trooper is like.

trooper: Did you not see my lights?
Driver: yes sir I did but was not sure they were for me
(note: There was oddly no other cars on the road)

trooper: give me yer license and regist. and all that stuff)
driver: hands it over with his hands shacking

trooper: flashes the mag inside the vehicle and all up in my glossy eyes
trooper: please step out of the car sir.............

I was like aww f**k man we done f****d up now.

Driver goes back to trooper car and does god knows what.

He comes back 10 min later and is like YAY I only got a speeding ticket.

1 mile down the road we realize we have stems on the dash and seeds in the ashtrey..............

Cops can be pretty cool when it comes to weed, as long as you demonstrate that you can control yourself and not be a total f**k up.

Friends of mine got pulled over while smokin, the cop leaned in the window and said "Well, it smells like I shouldn't search ya..."

That being said, the police blotter in your local paper is probably filled with reports of "failure to signal properly" or some minor traffic violation right along with "possession of marijuana" and/or "possession of drug paraphanalia"

90 in a 55 is quite unadvisable, goodluck getting out of that one. Not only does that carry a 5 point penalty in the state of PA, but also may require you to attend driver's training classes and/or have your licence suspended for 15 days.

As the officer put down your actual speed on the ticket, I don't think he's dicking around with you.

I got pulled over doing 103 in a 70 (Georgia).
The cop told me if he wrote the ticket for 100 or more i would have to go to jail.
But he cut me a break and wrote it for 98.
Didn't say anything about Reckless driving, but i guess its different for Cali.

Yeah don't ever speed going west on the turnpike nor EVER on the blue route. I travel this route every single day and 9 out of 10 times there is a state po hiding somewhere. I even know all their hiding spots =p

Yeah, this guy wasn't in a usual spot. I know the normal ones. hew as in a new one this time, and nailed me when I was passing some guy.

We had a federal officer in my work today getting some shit installed into his car.

a John C. Pitts or JCP. he's a retired NYC cop, now doing federal work or something. He told me to ask if you knew him Kbarr.

he said "Just tell him I'm Henry's cousin", what ever the f**k that means.

Anyway, he was pretty cool with me. I showed him the ticket and he said that there wern't any points, 'cause aparantly they have to write at least a suggested point level on the ticket itself. So he said I'm lucky for not getting in serious trouble for having an expired inspection also... I thought it was due at the end of this month, not last month... =/

Anyway, so yeah. Any idea who JCP (John Pitts) is?
he's a 50some year old black man.

I live in CA and I don't know if I know anyone that's ever gotten a speeding ticket on the freeway. 85 in a 55 would just be moving with traffic in a lot of places.

If the cop can't prove when he last did it in court, they'll throw the ticket out, although it's BS to ask the officer to show you.

Ive been driving in California for the last 6 years. I have never gotten a speeding ticket anywhere on the 2,210,405,110,10,134 freeways. I average around 75-85 mph on any given day. Cops just pull over stupid people who can't drive or are swerving. If you aren't putting someone in danger they usually wont pull you over as long as you make an effort to slow down if you see them.
