That's the combo I'm going with for retail.

what is this (normal) next to your name?
In the game, your rested status plays a big part to experience. As you aquire more and more "kill" experience (reguardless of the
time you've been on), your rested status changes.
You start off with "Well Rested". What this means is that if you were to kill a mob and gain 105 exp, you would also gain 105 "rest"
exp bonus. Thus, 210 total exp to your level. Well Rested is a 100% bonus.
As you gain more experience, you drop down to "Rested". rested is short-lived, and is only 50% exp bonus. If you killed a 105 exp
mob, you would gain 53 rest exp totalling you with 158 exp. Then you drop down to normal. Normal is 0% exp bonus. You drop
from "rested" to "normal" VERY fast. I don't know if this will change.
To go back up in rested rank, you must stay/log out inside of an inn. You must remain inside of the inn for 8 hours in order to become
Well Rested again, reguardless of your rest status. I don't know how much time it takes to advance to rested, but it's probably
6 hours.
Every city has an inn, and you can make any city you want "home" at any time. What this means is you will recieve a home stone.
It is a clickable item that gates you back to the inn you call home. this item has a 60 minute refresh rate.
Hope that explains your question a bit.
Nice, wanna give a intorduction to the race/class?
Ok, an introduction to Undead Mage... As you first create your character, you get a birds eye view of the sky as you fly into the tomb
in which you are born. Don't worry, you won't be there much. As you fly in, you actually can see in-game fighting going on below you.
Also as you fly, it explains all about the lich king and how you won your freedom from his army and thus became an undead.
Pretty neat story line.
When you first wake up, you learn some basic controls. It's easy. The whole game is, actually. But hard at the same time. You also
have some very basic spells, but you may need to visit a mage trainer first to recieve them. I really don't recall.
So anyway, as you leave your tomb, you'll encounter an NPC standing at the top with a yellow "!" over his head. This let's you know
that this person has a quest for you, so run over and right click on him.
He tells you to head down to the mage trainer at the church at the bottom of the graveyard, so... you do. As you get there, you'll see
the mage trainer with a yellow "?" overtop of his head. This tells you that this is someone that you need to talk to about a quest you're
on. Be it to hand in everything you've collected or what. He hooks you up with a training robe and what not and sends you on your
way, to kill a few skeletons & mummies that are plaguing their grave yard.
You'll notice that there is a difference. Undead that have woken from the lich king have an intelligence and they are non-aggressive.
Undead that are part of his army still are just mindless and become agressive (at a higher level).
Anyway, you just get a basic feel for the game early on doing lots of quests and such. Quests are what this game is all about. I'd
say 35% of all EXP you aquire in WoW is due to quests. It's deffinatly a cool system, and the quests are FUN! There is no wasting
hours and hours waiting for a rare spawn, or gather impossible drops that only appear like once a blue moon. The game is VERY fast
paced. Downtime is 2 minutes tops, and this is even at level 25 with a lot of mana. I can summon my own food and drinks. The only
purpose food/drink has is to give you back hp (food) and mana (drinks).
I have 1150 mana right now, and the drink I summon gives me 700 mana in 30 seconds. This is ABOVE what I would already acumulate
while sitting down. The food is the same, except it's 640 hp (I think).
Anyway, just keep doing tons of quests and learning the areas and you fly though the game and aquire new skills and items. Items
are not terribly important, and you get 90% of what you'll need from doing quests. Sometimes you get lucky and a random mob
will drop a random item, but don't count on it. This game is not about camping loot.
Anyway, groups are set to 5 players only. If one of your quests require you kill 10 mobs, everyone in the group gets credit for those
mobs that die. not like 10 different ones per person.
Also, with the unique named people that drop unique quest items (note: They only drop them if you have that quest open when you
kill them). EVERYONE that has the quest open that was part of the kill (in group) can loot that item, even if there is only 1 on the
corpse. More common mobs are different though, and everyone needs to loot their own every kill.
Not really sure what else I can say right now, but if you wanna ask more questions, I'll be more than willing to answer them for you.
Bu-bye!

Except its not gonna work so well eventually, too much abuse of it at the moment. Notice the people with 10 blue items for sale all the time?

(1) must be a bad name filter then, I thought EQ did a decent job with theirs, and there still were the people with names such f**k up names as SupperDrood, or Warriorman. I can't imagine how bad WoW is going to be
(2) stop posting pics of your damn characters, makes me want to play so bad

WoWs naming policy is posted on the www.worldofwarcraft.com website. It's a lot more open than EQ's was at the start.. and more similar to what EQs is now.
