Hi, I'm in need of assistance re: SL modeling and related tools. Simply put, I don't know how to work them effectively. The options they offer seem quite limited and I have no idea how to achieve anything remotely close to what can already be seen in the world. I should probably note that I have some visual game design experience, but I'm not used to tools like these at all.
If someone could give me a link to an online tutorial of some kind, I'd appreciate it.

Are you talking about structural modeling, as in architecture, or are you aiming at a somewhat lower scale design? Either way, you can find guides in the game itself, and they're quite well written. Check out the event lists in SL for tutorials and classes of the type that interests you.
