Can it be done?
Some f*****s sent me a txt for work back in .pdf format. I can't select/cut/paste it to edit. Any tips/help?

pdf's are read-only unless you have Adobe Acrobat. Think file sharing network + serial.ws

Well I opened it with Acrobat.
The thing is it is a document they scanned in. So essentially it's a picture. Therefore I cannot select the text from it in Acrobat.
I can't open it with Word either.
The only other option would be to type it all out again into a Word-document, and even though it's not that much it's extra work I don't really need right now.
So I was wondering if someone maybe has a program who can transfer this kind of stuff from pic into text. Also for future reference.

not true. you can capture text out of them if the file isn't locked. what you are thinking is the actual creation of the pdf.
if you look at the standard set up there should be a hand mag glass captial T with a box under it then another dotted box.. those are the tools you click instead of the hand then you should be able to highlight and copy the text.. UNLESS the creator locked the file if that is the case u r just SOL

in that instance yeah i think you can only retype it. -- there are other options but honestly i think thats the easiest.. unless i see the actual doc i cant verify it cant be pulled out another way. but from what you are saying .. it sounds like you won't be able to extract the text you want

And ya, it's in freaky eurolanguage. Not only that, it's the raped version of my beautiful text *snif*. I hate people.

Screen capture it or print/scan then run through OCR.

I think Open Office will let you edit PDF's, not entirely 100% on that though.
