Hi, I'm totally new to Guild Wars, and I need some advice regarding professions. Since I'm mostly interested in PvP play (or Guild vs. Guild, in this game), I won't have the time to slowly adapt and learn everything. SO I was wondering, what profession mix is the easiest / quickest to learn, and still viable to play in PvP? Is there such a combo?

Not really, no. I won't say the profs and their skills are overly complex compared to any other MMORPG, but you do need to learn to use them, and more importantly select them as the circumstances dictate. Your best bet would be to hook up with some guilders who have prior experience in prof combos similar to your current one, and ask them for advice as you go along.
