My cousin hurt his hand really bad a few weeks ago carting out chairs from a hotel working for <insert company here>. He went to see doctor and got his workmans comp claim in. Then he recieved his first check because they had no light, one armed duty, which is what they released him for. Now, they're trying to skip out on the past two checks.
Basically, they say they had work for him the whole time, even after he reported to work and was sent home by several people including <insert name here>, the owner. Now they say they're going to have him back to work, when he would be going before several higher ranked workers. It goes A-C it is a tier used by the union, used for which order people would be brought back to to work. I'm pretty sure that's against union policy. Anyway, the place we worked at is pretty bad, it's rather dangerous there, I'm pretty sure the place has to break a lot of safety laws. How can I really s***w these people over?
On top that, they informed him he would be brought back monday and laid off/fired after 4 hours.

Economical collapse is the current forcast. If he were to join the ranks now, he may just have more experience dealing with it than those who get caught by it later.

Other route...an attourney and sue their asses off?

Well, so far this is what we've done. We spoke with the BA from our union, he gave my cousin a lawyer and told him that the company can't do that to him. I'm working on getting ahold of OSHA about the companies unsafe workplace

OSHA is your friend here, plus your state labor board. If the injured party has proper documentation from doctors etc and your lawyer didnt get his degree from a cracker jack box, you certainly dont need realpoor's help for this.
Many large companies WILL TRY TO f**k YOU if they can in situations like this. I used to work with a company that processed insurance claims and such, and I promise ya, you NEED a lawyer to get a fair deal.
On the flip side, if the injured party is seen in public and not in obvious pain he WILL BE VIDEO TAPED and have it used against him. Injury claims...MOST of them, are investigated heavily if there is anything to it.
Private Investigators make a very good living just looking to bust someone on insurance fraud, and often times the video evidence is taken out of context...IE you see some guy with a hurt back try to start a lawnmower, but the part where he falls over and cant move is edited out.
