Has anyone gone to dual graphics cards? If so, are you glad you did? Have you seen a major jump in preformance, or is it a waste?
I am seriously looking at jumping up to dual nVidia...

Being as no one has responded to your thread, I'll shed some light on your query. I have two BFG 8800GTs, OC2 edition. I must say, whenever I disable SLI, I do notice quite a bit of performance decrease, when it comes to FPS. Of course, it depends on what games you play as to how much of an increase, or even decrease of FPS you get when you switch to SLI, but in most cases, there is quite alot of difference, I'd say there's about a 30-40% increase on most games that I play. Bear in mind, I'm on a 22" widescreen, 1680x1050 resolution, and apparently, SLI is supposed to work better at higher resolutions, though I was using a standard 5:4 aspect ratio LCD at 1280x1024 before I got this one, but I could still notice a difference switching between both modes. I would say it's worth getting two if you're at higher resolution, but more than 2, so I've heard, is just a waste.

The expected number (or at least this is *about* the number I've heard) for performance increase with two cards is 150% of your original performance, which is quite a good chunk. However, with hardware as it is now, anything beyond that is negligible and not worth the extra cash spent to increase a game by a mere 5 fps.

The higher the resolution, the less the performance will reply on the CPU, and the more it will rely on the video card, thus, SLI'd cards or high end cards are a waste on anything below 1680x1050
