From JK Rowling's official site:
I know you all expected this to happen on Christmas day, but I was sure that those of you who celebrate Christmas have better things to on the day itself do than to fight your way into my study, whereas those of you who DON'T celebrate Christmas would definitely prefer not to wait until the twenty fifth so...
'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' is COMPLETED and has been delivered to my English language publishers, who hope to announce the publication date within 24 hours.
Although I have joked about HP&THBP racing my third baby into the world, I have in fact had all the time I needed to tinker with the manuscript to my satisfaction and I am as happy as I have ever been with the end result. I only hope you feel that it was worth the wait when you finally read it!
Wishing everybody a wonderful holiday and a happy and peaceful 2005,
With love from,
JK Rowling

Take the glasses off the guy the second from the right and he'd look like the guy from American Pie (forgot his name ). Guy on the left looks like Dean Cain though...(Superman series).

So if she stays true to the trend of the first few books, I'm guessing this one clocks in at what, 1100 pages or so?

She said she was going to try to hold down the page numbers, however she should have went for as many as she saw fit. 1100's fine. I have time.

Callaren, I KNOW you weren't calling ME names there....
I cut and pasted JK's statement....it's in context as that was all she had to say, so if you assumed that it would be released for Christmas, pooh on you!
Can preorder the book at Amazon and a zillion other places already for 17.99 ....

Well, I'd be three times as excited to see your book, and if we don't poll anyone else you can just take me as the average!

/gasp, no, no, no, no! I was calling the publisher an a*****e for making the book release much later than it needed to be, if it was going to be released in July when she got it done in December.
If anything, thanks for posting this. I've waited a long time to hear about when this one's coming out. I don't go searching for release dates so I don't become a 'worry wart'. Also, greatness takes time.

That guy in the orange shirt is about to put on a tiger-striped Santa hat...that white thing is the pom-pom, and he's holding the thing upside down in front of his face, in preparaion for the big "flip" onto his head.../nod
