My old 10 gig hard drive that I used to store mp3's and code died this last weekend. It started clicking pretty loudly all of a sudden. I tried copying over some files to my other drive but windows bsod'd before I could. Now when I try to boot it up it isn't found at all by bios. Anything I can do to try and fix it?

there are tons of things that could've happened. Maybe it just fried, maybe the wires are bad. But there are many many ways to recover your lost data. Maybe tomorrow, when sober and i remember this thread ill get back to you

Take the drive out to the field and put a couple bullets in its platters.
It's the kindest way.

go to gateway comptuers website, and download a file form the tech support section named 7513666.exe, it is a file called gwscan, a diag ute used to test and repair harddrives, unzip it to a floppy and then boot to a bootable disk and run it in true dos on the harddrive, if if doesnt find the harddrive, its fuxxored.....if it does find the harddrive, trest it and it may give an option to repair the drive and fix it, itf it gives a message about a faiulure, the drive is shot to shit.....but remeber to master the drive in the computer before you test it, becsue this test will pick up on more that one drive....its a coll litlle program, also you can go to westerndigitlal.com, the manufatures of the gwscan progeram and they have a clone called Data Lifeguard Diag....their verion is about 10 something.....it works well for drive diags also....

Sounds functionally dead to me.
If you really want the data back you may have to send it to a recovery company but that costs $$$
