I checked in at EB Games today, to check for when HL2 was set back again, when hte guy told me that his friend, after buying the new Radeon 9800 Pro, was given an address to download the FULL version of the game. Not hacked, a legit, single-player only version of HL2.
Anyone else heard anything about it? The guy looked serious enough, although it is illogical for Sierra to do something like that..

That would be known to greater extents than hearing from a friend through a friends fathers mothers sisters cousin step-brother.
plus it would avail through steam too since thats valves plan to distribute it.

He was speaking about the source code. The source wasn't hacked as far as I can tell, it was just stolen from a hacked system.

specific new ati graphics cards are being packaged with a kinda "scratch off lottery ticket" card which gives you a CD Key for half-life 2. once HL2 is released, they'll provide you with a place to download the full version of hte game. in other words, if you buy ATI, you get HL2 for free.

Maybe that's technically what he said. Although he made it sound as though the friend had it already.

and i thikn it was only on specific cards, you coulden't just go by a cheap ATI card and get it. I know they were doing it for the 9800XT, just don't know which other ones.
