Hackers Tutorial.
Someone was DLing this from me while I was on Kazaa. I never DLed this file and went looking for it. I found it in a folder on my hard drive that is NOT in the shared folder. I checked properties on this folder and it said 87 files, but I can't see any of them. When I open it, it looks empty.
Me tinks someting is not kosher.
Anyone know how I can look at these files, make them visable? I have heard that people can do things with folders and such when you share files, any advise?

What OS are you running. I know in XP, and maybe a version or two earlier there is a way to show ( or hide ) hidden files.. Go to the property folder(s) and check if you have "Hide Hidden Files"..
Kazaa or Kazaa Lite?

kazaa lite, but I went through a few other file sharing programs before I found K lite. Who knows that they left on my machine.

I see some other f**k DLing "adobe acrobat reader" out of the same folder.
Should I just deleate the whole folder?

I recomend Spy Bot: Search&Destroy
Just as good as Ad-Aware, but works even faster.

I don't mind sharing music, but thats not what I'm seeing.
It appears that I have a folder with hidden files, files I didn't DL sitting on my hard drive that people are DLing from. Not only DLing from but if I didn't DL these files in the first place that means they are being uploaded correct? Without my permission.
And before I deleat anything I want to understand the process, I want to know whats going on. How they do this.

it's all about what sort of file sharing is setup on your machine right now
there's two places you need to check for how you limit your filesharing I believe..at least on xp..
go to the windows help, and read up on file sharing, i believe it mentions what you need to check, or you can go run a security check at dslreports.com on their port scan..maybe you have a worm on your machine, backdoor shit, etc..a pain in the ass to get rid of

i have never gotton a virus or any other good stuff like that
only virus i ever got was because my mom got it in a email like 2 years ago

Spend $10 bucks and get Limewire.

Never download .exe or .iso/.bin from kazaa, the .exes are 99% of the time going to be infected, and the .iso/bin are usualy going to be corrupted due to a bad download....
