Honestly, if you love watching sports and movies, there is nothing like TRUE HD television. My local Time Warner just picked up ESPN HD and they just finally started supporting 1020i resolution. It is the most unbelievable picture I have ever seen. Looks even better than being at the game, and I would know cuz I was there today.
Any other HDers? I got the Mitsubishi 55" Widescreen and it is the shit.

I have a sony 57". watching INHD2 right now. some Baja racing thing.
I watch stuff i'd never otherwise watch, just because it's in HD

Those of us who appreciate television, who take it for more than face value, appreciate quality. When you move from 480 to 1080i, it's like going from silver to platinum. It's a whole new improvement on life.
Let's put it this way. I watched a show on worldwide landscape video taken from a helicopter for a full hour because of HDTV. And the kicker? There was no audio commentary, no commercials, just pure high-definition beauty.
And that, my puny-minded little peon, is why you fail to appreciate HDTV's potential.

I paid about $2000 for my television. I had wanted one for awhile, and researched them up and down for 2+years before I actually bought the one now sitting in my living room.
Sure, I could have saved some of the $$ but it would just be sitting in the bank doing nothing. With this TV i have a room in the house that is essentially a movie theatre considering the size of the TV relative to the size of the room.
By the way, in my opinion, the sharpest and best picture i recieve is the HD Discovery Channel. Some of the most amazing visuals of places none of us are ever going to visit. Truly amazing

moron i dont really watch tv, if i do its for the noise rather than anything else.. if i want to see a beautiful landscape there are ways way cheaper than a tv... your the reason stupid companys constantly make new crap to buy, tool.
