This game is seriously the most fun I've had with my PS2 in a long time. Most of the songs are "as made famous by" and not the actual recordings, but they sound well, and it's just fun to wail on guitar controller to play. =)

I f*****g love this game heh. It takes a bit to get used to the controller, but once you learn it, it is a blast. I will be writing a review in a bit but I can already tell you its 3.5 out of 4 =)

In the simplest terms yeah. However, once you hit normal difficulty and it adds that f*****g blue button which requires use of your pinky it gets hard.
However, this is coming from someone who has NEVER played a guitar so I assume if you are good at a real guitar it will not be as difficult. From what I have read on other forums though, when you get to higher level songs on normal and play on expert it is exactly like playing the song with a real guitar difficulty wise.

How much is it for the game+controller?
I wrote a full review on SC3, and am planning on writing one for Dragon Quest VIII.
Jak, love you if you write one for this. And, if you actually bought DQVIII (I got it from GameFly) write a review on FFXII.

I've never tried playing a real guitar either, and am stuffling through a lot of the songs on Hard now. You have to hit the frets and "strum" the bar to play the note/chord. Jak, if you think the blue fret is hard, wait until they work in the orange fret in Hard, and you have to move your hand to hit Yellow/Orange chords followed up by Red/Green. Takes a rather large jump from Normal into Hard, but it's still fun to struggle through the songs.
Paid 59.99 for the game + controller bundle at an EB here, most places have it listed for 69.99 tho. Has been a pain in the ass trying to find a second controller for it tho. No store around here that I've called has one, or knows when/if they are getting them, so I'm probably going to have to break down and buy one from redoctane's site.

My roommate got this for a couple of his friends for xmas. Game + 2 contollers.
We played all night long on it and I'll tell you it's really very little like playing a real guitar. Is sweet though, good fun. Thought about getting it myself.

The only part that was supposed to be similar was the hardest difficulty from what I understand, and even then it's not the same, there are more than 5 notes for guitar.
