The situation now is this: I've got a trial version of Guild Wars installed, right? And now it's running, it's got about a week and a half left, but I don't know what happens when it expires, does it just end and I have to get another account or does it just start billing my ccard?

As far as I know, the trial account is separate from the paying account. That would mean the trial version will just expire, and you'll have to get the real deal if you want to keep playing. IMBW, though.
