Comparing all online games that are presently active I have noticed that only Guild Wars are completely free. With others you have the base for free, but as it builds up you need to pay some monthly fee. Is it possible that we are facing at this trend from now on Guild Wars: Prophecies dying slowly? Why play from the beginning, when you can have the latest stuff for free?

I see where you are coming from, but I would not agree with you. You think that people are going to play lower levels of games from other developers just because they are free? I dont think so. I think it is up to a game if it will sustain the number of optimum players. Also, when you look at the production date, Guild Wars Prophecies is younger then most of other second and third level games. I do not think that Guild Wars Prophecies is dying slowly, I think that it is reliving its newfound youth. Just look at the number of registered players.
