Guild Wars Problem with creating an account

I just got Guild Wars, the Nightfall version, and I installed OK, restarted when it wanted to restart, but … Almost immediately after I go into the game, my screen goes dead, and I have to restart. It's not right away, I can see the account menus and all, but after like 20 seconds in, it dies on me.
I'm pretty sure my system meets the hardware requirements, coz it's way above the minimums listed. Anyone have any idea what might be the problem here?

You forgot to mention what video card you've got. Make sure it's one that can be found on the "supported hardware" list (which should be in your manual, or on the official Arena Net site). Whether or not it is there, you should try updating your drivers with the latest version, see if that changes anything.
