How did Diablo make money? It's going to work roughly the same, with larger servers isn't it?

might be like blizzard how there is like a usa east, west and asia servers and shit.

But yeah think diablo, all on very few servers w/ tons of instances.

same way blizzard does?

advertisements and just sales of the game.

They are ultimately being financed by ncsoft so money really isnt a problem but I would assume its not that much bandwidth if blizzard has been able to do it for years and still keep bnet up and running.

It's like an entry level drug to get you hooked on mmorpgs and then they move you onto lineage/coh/tabula rasa/100 other ncsoft mmorpgs

The client is around 80k. Then of course it downloads resources as you need them for each area.
The first character creation stuff is around 8-12meg. Then after that it will download more for the area you go to.
Edit: looked at my Guildwar directory after playing the first mission, it was 121megs total...

BTW, the event started already today, the 28th.
So far the game is a blast , graphics are great, and it's very easy to understand and control.

after that it was fairly neat
fights are a little too fast for me

The missions are f*****g sweet, it feels like im playing some single player game with an actual story and cutscenes.

It's a shame it suffers from the same stuff every asian MMORPG does though (aka everyone looks, fights, and has their skills exactly the same)
