I need a general guide/tutorial, and it would have to be not only good but also free. The only free ones I found on various forums are either very focused on a specific aspect of the game (which isn't what I need) or they assume an extensive knowledge of terminology and jargon (which I lack). Anyone out there that can help me out?

Well, as usual, you get your money's worth … Me, I use mmorpguides.com, but that's a pay site. Don't know if you'll get the quality you're after for free… try multiplayerstrategies.com/gw, there should be a free trial membership or something like that. For general gameplay guides, go to the official support site (guildwars.com/support) or check out general gaming sites like IGN and Gamespy for links.
