I hope I can get into beta sometime, I am excited to compare it to my small playtime with WoW. |
Either that or they had no life :p

I know EQ2 has been compared with WoW countless times... So I am asking how does EQ2 compare with EQ (more specificly older EQ <vel)
Does it have that sort of feel to it? Or at least what aspects could you compare to it? I think most would agree EQ was its best in its earlier days, I am asking if EQ2 going to recapture that feeling?

Video cards don't even take full advantage of AGP 8x, let alone the bandwidth in PCIe. The only advantage PCIe has over AGP is Nvidia's SLI and that's only good if you have an nVidia chipset motherboard with onboard video or a 2nd graphics card.

You should get an exp penalty for playing 12 out of 24 hours. Sort of like the converse of the WoW rested bonus. That would help slow down leveling.

Also, this game better f*****g run on my computer. Sure, pretty sprites make for long, romantinc cyber with a 46 year-old man playing a female, high elf druid, but I'd rather have better gameplay/quests and marginal graphics than vice-versa.

Sorry, Silver. I'm not sure you played SWG but if you would care to ask around, SWG was a nightmare on your video card. Chug for no reason, single digit framerates, s****y animation, etc... and then you actually look at another player and it gets really bad.
Hell, in EQ I turn on just a couple of the extra rendering options and my framerate goes from 80 to 12. I have a geForce fx5600 and uhh 1gig of ram on a 2.4.

Which is why I fell in love with WoW. I've got a 2.4/256 RAM (I know, I know) with fx5200 and it ran smooth in a f*****g stress test. I log on to EQ with the lowest possible settings and it still stalls and runs like shit.

Hell, WoW runs great on a 512M-RAM machine with a 1.4MHz processor and a random piece of shit video card.

Yeah, EQ was definitely more fun when each level meant more. While it was frustrating at times, it was still awesome to remember back when we stared at a level 30 guy in awe.
