8knxp_ultra
Dose anyone have this board or plan on buying it?
Tell me what you think. Is this worth the $370 it cost .
Before you answer , Yes I will use the Ultra320 SCSI And the AGP 8x.
I will not use the 6 Dimm slots. Likely will only use 2 or 3 due to voltage reason and the fact i don't use more than 1.5 gigs anyway.
It seams a little pricey but I would like to get my OS back on my SCSI drive that is just collecting dust due to the fact my current motherboard dose not support pci-x card required for 320 mode. the difference between ata133 and SCSI ultra160 addon card i have is unnoticeable.
I have read a few positive reviews here and there. Have heard nothing negative other than the 6 memmory slots are pretty useless because you can only use 4 doublesided chips not 6 at once.
Another downside is i would like to get pc4000 memmory which this board dose not support .

I've built 4 machines based on the 8KnXp, And I personally think they are BY FAR the best Pentium 4 board out. The price is worth it, being that a SCSI320 Card Runs no less than $100.00 Anyways, so if you're going to use it. Get this board if you are serious about your machine.
Dual BIOS is very very nice to have. And Although the 6 dimm Slots may be over doing it, It sure is Cool Looking isn't it?
For you're situation, I cannot think of a better board for it.
Sorry but I'm not a huge fan of ABIT, the last 2 ABIT machine's I worked on, were rather slow for my tastes.
