I used to play everquest everyday, didn't do my homework, when I was actually out of the house, all I thouht about was getting home to play eq. I didn't like it being that way, but then I made FRIENDS!
Yes, friends. The ticket to not being obsessed with EQ and playing it in your sparetime is making friends. I still play computer games, but I'm not obsessed with them and they are still fun, just finding something to occupy your time like a job, friends and enjoying teenage passtimes such as drinking, playing poker with friends will make you feel better. I am not an addict.

Ah... okay now I remember why I ignored most of your posts. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Next week I think you are scheduled to make a post about how you lost your virginity. A few days after that comes 2 or 3 "woa dude i'm loaded." posts. Then maybe a self-gratifying "I bought a nice car/boat/house" post or two.

And what happens if you don't have such a hateful and spiteful personality such as yourself, and you actually make friends in EverQuest? What would you do then? What would you DO?
You'd be torn, and end up staring at a wall for five minutes while you toss back and forth. Should I go drinking and smoke pot with Johnny and Lance, or should I hang out in Sebillis with Galglalerareaeril the fourteen year old guy and cyber?

Yeah! You could be out getting hammered instead of playing a computer game. The difference is, getting hammered implies you have a life.
We've been over this before. It's all about free time. "Having a life" is another way to say, "You'd better live the way we tell you to, otherwise you don't have a life". I never felt guilty playing EQ because it was about having fun in my free time. If I weren't playing EQ, then maybe I would have been at the movies or reading or watching TV or playing another game, etc. Sitting on my ass at someone else's house isn't any better than sitting on my ass at home (not a club person).
"Lol! Those EQ nerds don't have a life Lol!", says Johnny Pothead as he downs another beer and smokes another joint!

no, i didn't say that i "have a life" now. I just play games in my spare time instead of making it more priority than more important things such as school work or friends that have flesh.

My best friends by expansion:
Original EQ: Cleric of Innoruuk
Kunark: krup ghoul knight
Velious: A Fiery Temple Guardian
Luclin: disturbed elysian remains
PoP: a typhoon lorok
Other than that, I have few friends.

I just got tired of jumping through hoops. Every expansion is the same as the last. How many times can you camp keys, or get flags before you say f**k it...
Well, I guess based on how long some people have been playing, quite a while.

Congrats
Any activity can be addictive. The fact that you realize it and have taken measures to prevent it shows a great deal of respect and courage.
I myself have addictive personality traits, so I can identify with you. Some people cannot 'halfway' the addictions, however. Be glad it was something as 'harmless' as a video game, and not gambling, drugs, etc. that made you see the light,
