I got a GeForce 7300 GS in my new computer and it doesn't work. My computer has a 500w power supply, 1GB of ram, Asus motherboard and AMD X2 cpu. I installed the driver for the motherboard and the graphics card (also got the update) but when I play games something different goes wrong with each game.
Wolfenstein: enemy territory - crash and reboot as soon as i play
Call of Duty - can play for 20 min before crash
Ghost Recon - crashes on main menu
Indiana jones - plays bad (random lag) for 5min and crashes
Age of Empires - no problem because it is not 3D
As far as I am aware of it is not the temperature because it is always below 40 c and I even got a big house fan, took of the casing and aimed it at the motherboard. Does anybody know what I have to do? Do I have to change some of the game or graphics card settings? Format the drive and reinstall everything including the OS (windows XP sp 2)?
please help me
Thank you

Do you have installed only driver (that came with the card) or you've updated it?
It's been known that new nVidia drivers cause trouble with certain games, especially for new models 7xxx and 8xxx.
Temperature could be possible cause, never exlude that option.
You could check your whole system temperature with programs like Everest Home Edition.
Pay attention to your card temperature. Does the fan work properly?
Also, possible cause could be your power supply. There is difference between Watt amount (set by manufacturer and real amount of W).
Anyway, I think you should upgrade it to >700W. Antec or Chieftec. 500W isn't enough, especially with new cards, plus CPU, DVD drive or writer...
But, first of all, check your drivers. Reformatting is the last option.

I have installed the latest versions of the motherboard and the graphics card a few times so I don't think that is the problem. I use a big fan from my room (300mm) that is always blowing on the inside of the case and I monitor the temperature and it never goes over 43 c even while playing games. I have got a 500w power supply but I think that is enough because I don't have that much stuff inside.
Thank you

are your 3d drivers working alright?
like is your graphics card working correctly?
my computer > properties > device manager > graphics card > check the status!
