Call of Duty
Custom Timedemo
Intel P4 3.2GHz, i865, 1GB DDR400
1600x1200 / 32 bit / 60 Hz

GeForce 6800 Ultra ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) 108.3 FPS
GeForce FX 5950U )))))))))))))))) 35.4 FPS
ATI Radeon 9800XT ))))))))))))))))))) 40.8 FPS

This thing blows the doors off of the current top of the line cards, and is supposed to ship within 6 weeks or so. I wonder what it will cost.

EDIT: Replaced broken graphic with l33t ascii art Cool

god it took nearly a minute to load that stupid gif and now I don't have any idea why you posted it.

But yeah, I can't wait til all the "top of the line" cards now start dropping in price so I can actually run one that doesn't suck.

1 minute of downloading and you still managed to reply only 2 min after I made the original post! Nice work!

Tom's hardware is running really slow right now, probably from too many people reading the review on this card, so maybe that wasn't the best place to link to. :p

Hmm, yes there was. It was supposed to be a graph of FPS vs some other cards. Let me recreate it here...

Call of Duty

1600x1200 / 32 bit / 60 Hz

GeForce 6800 Ultra ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) 108.3 FPS

yeah, read the same thing about the powersupply on the review at www.anandtech.com.

the card needs a constant 12v feed, which it can't get from just the motherboard. it needs a second power feed directly from the powersupply. so you may have to ditch one of your harddrives so you can power your video card instead, haha.

the 5900 needs a hard drive power connector too ...

but not 480 watts

i wonder how freaking loud the 6800 U is

the 5900 ultra sounds like a cd drive running at full speed when you have a full screen 3d window up

480 watt power supply... wtf.

It's no wonder my GeForce ti4200 never worked. The damn things are drawing too much power and the quality is crap.

I'm sick of crappy cards from these companies... I hope this isn't another case of "we cheated by building the card to do the test while sacrificing quality, reasonable price, and green power ratings"

the 6800 ultra requires 2 power connections to the card, most of the last generation cards required 1.

sorry for the post whoreing =P

btw, rumor is that ATI was leaking bad information about what that capabilities of their next chipset is. If this is true and Nvidia took the bait, look for ATIs card to exceed that of Nvidia. of course, the video card market is always playing a game of leapfrog
