STICK TO THE TOPIC
Gamecube is by far the best system for children. PS2 has the largest library, and Xbox has what I believe to be some of the most graphically stimulating games.

I had my g/f get me a gamecube 3 months ago when the price dropped to $99. I had planned to play Zelda and a few other games but FFXI came out so the thing is collecting dust in my basement

I'm just curious why people don't like the gamecube? Is it because there's a smaller selection of games? I only ask because we have both a PS2 and a gamecube. While we like the game selection better of the PS2, if there's a game we like that will be on both platforms we always wait for it to come out on gamecube. The graphics seem better and we've come to hate the loading times of PS2. Plus, some of the gamecube only games are really good. I can't speak for the X-box, we don't have one and I've never played one.

Let him play video games! Let him start early!
It is like 1000X better than having him watch TV .. playing games at an early age can improve problem solving in so many aspects.
Trust me .. *everyone I know who played video games at a young age has a much easier time learning how to work computers and electronic devices . . . and those who had computers at a young age are even better . . .
actually, just get him a computer. . . one without internet . . . give him some games and stuff . . . let him s***w around with it . . .

game cube is the best system by far for multiplayer games
Super Smash Melee Brothers 4 players OWNS
Mario Kart Double Dash 4 players OWNS
i heard good things about monkey balls... also 4 players
Mario Golf.... best golf game... ever... 4 players
and it has good single player games such as.. Zelda... OWNS.... resident evil PROLLY OWNS but i never played them =P
and in the theatre seeing the last samurai... i seen a preveiw for a new final fantasy game comming out for gamecube only.. looked kinda tight... crystal chronicles or some shit.. if yer gona buy.. buy now... you get the ultimate zelda collection disc.. 4 of the zeldas from oldschool systems on 1 disc (zeldas 1 and 2.. ocarina of time and magayos mask)...i didnt get this disc GOD DAMNIT i want it so bad... looking on ebay after i post this... thx bye gamecube 4-life

Other than the Mario line of atrocities, the gamecube has f****n' nothing. XBox and Ps2 dominate the multiplayer variety and selection.

Red Faction 2, THPS, and SSX are all on gamecube too.
I still think smash bros melee is the best multiplayer game I've played yet.
Too bad Nintendo is bastardizing most of the other big titles.
