I want to buy a handheld GPS unit for keeping exact location information when scouting photography sites, hiking, or when I go wandering in the desert yet I know jack & shit about them.
Can anyone recommend a good one, and what do I want to look for when buying a GPS unit?

That would be a nifty module for a digital camera, something that records the lat/long in the JFIF header automatically.
