I pre-ordered my shit thru EB. The f*****s haven't even shipped my damn shit yet.
I was p****d enough to flame them via email. I wonder how they'll handle it...
anyways..don't preorder shit from them, specially for something like EQ, or you'll be f****d. They can't deliver what they promise.

EB Games??? The Best Buy by my house won't have EQ2 until November, 15th.. The other Best Buys that are like forever away already have it! I was so angry!...
I went to EB games today and I got there at 10:30 right when they got their shipment in... They didn't even have them out of the box they were just handing them out left and right it seemed!

Oh bloody hell: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/news_archive.vm?section=Headline&id=238
| Quote: | We Apologize for EQ II: Collectors Edition Customs Delays
To Station Store customers who have pre-ordered or ordered the EverQuest II: Collectors Edition:
We experienced an unfortunate delay with U.S. Customs in clearing importation of recent shipments of the "tin" in which it is packaged. As a result we will not begin shipping the orders for these units until late this week.
We offer you our apology. At this time we would like to offer you the ability to cancel your Station Store pre-order or order. No refund is necessary as your product has not been shipped and you have not been charged for the purchase.
To cancel send your Station Name and Order number to returns@soe.sony.com. Requests for cancellation must be received by 6:00 PM PST on Wednesday, November 10, 2004. Once you request the cancellation you will be unable to reinstate that order. If you decide you want the product you will need to visit the Station Store to repurchase it.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Sincerely,
Sony Online Entertainment |
Its not totally EBs Fault it seems. HOwever, i know that some of them did get shipped as I saw them at Gamestop

I'm in the same boat as Paco and Jak.
Funny how they can get them at their stores, but haven't shipped out the pre-orders yet. Something smells funny...

Bingo!
This was all a damn ploy to make for a smooth launch day. Anyone who's played more than one MMORPG knows that the weakest link on any launch day is the login server. Most games will open the floodgates at a certain time, and the login server will get raped. Then they open it again once they fix it, and it'll get f****d again. This goes on and on for most of the first day. What Sony did was delay a portion of the shipments to the vendors (for instance, my DVD version didn't come till today, but my collectors edition was in yesterday, whereas others complained about no collectors edition), and opened the servers without telling anyone. This allowed people to trickle into the game, and server load increased with word of mouth. Then, today, the rest of the people get to log in, but mainly in shifts, due to time zone differences. Less croaking of the login servers.
Brilliant idea, but still p****s me off.

They should make an exception for those of us overseas who will end up getting it 2 weeks after the shipment date.

| Quote: | Dear Valued EBgames.com Customer,
We are writing to make you aware of a delay with your EverQuest II Collector’s Edition order. Due to circumstances beyond the control of EB Games we received fewer copies than expected, causing the delay of some orders, including yours. We expect another shipment of this game Thursday and, as soon as we receive it, we will process your order.
We at EB Games are gamers ourselves and we know how difficult it can be to receive a game late, particularly an MMO like EverQuest II. As soon as these arrive at our warehouse they will receive our highest priority. Again, we apologize for this delay.
If you have any questions regarding your order you can reply to this email or give us a call, toll free, at (877) 432-9675. We are here from 8:00 AM to Midnight, EST, seven days a week.
Best Regards,
EBgames.com Customer Service
