best i've found for my frost mage is the spec 17/0/44. its what pwns the most as frost. with a rogue is the best for frost mages. a rogue and afrost mage in 2s can go somewhre in the 2k bracket easily because of the amount of insane CC and burst damage.

ive run rogue mage before and it is what i currently seek is a good frost mage,if your rogue is good and you can spellsteal/counterspell/sheep then its pretty much auto win for most teams since with sheep / vanish sap and blind its almost imposable not to lock down an opponent long enough to dust off whoever is unlucky enough to be the un cc'd target

Rogue works very well, if you can find a talented ret paladin you can blow up most Druid/X teams. Though, I'd say stick to rogue, GL finding a good ret paladin.

rogue is the most popular but disc priest works as well(but you sort of get countered by warlock teams) have a friend at 2400+ end of season 3 and 2300 at season 4 right now
i personally play rogue/mage (the rogue) at 2300~ s2 s3 s4 so it works quite well

Rogue Mage just isn't as strong as it used to be IMHO mage priest is a much stronger combo(either pom/pyro mage and disc/silence priest or frost and disc/holy) even though games take considerably longer.

Frost mage is survivalist, so go for other survivalist as well - try a pala XD At least opposing team will have good fun

idk guys ive seen a duel frost maget team tear it up both with water elementals thats beastly, if not that then a rouge or warrior or paladin a class with stun is really handy

You are probably best paired with a Rogue, or possibly a Ret Paladin. However, a bad combo can still be good if the players are good  .

Spec 17/0/44 with 5/5 AW as a minimum is you plan on running dual dps.
A Rogue is your best best, specced 20/0/41 for control against other rogues.

rogue needs to be shadowstep to stick to healers, helps with not getting kited
its a pretty hard comp to play, so dont give up...keep at it, with the same rogue if you think he's decent, and the ratings will come
its not a comp that you can just start up and hit 2k instantly
