One of the reasons that keeps me playing WoW, is that without having to be a 24/7 l33t h4X0r power gamer, can log in a few days a week and get shit done.

The guild I'm in has a set schedule. 3 days a week of raiding. It allows me to get all the high level content, without having to sacrifice my personal life to play an enjoyable game. Much different than the c**k-blocking, spawn races, that were the "High-end content" of EQ.

So for 15 hours a week committment, I get to see the high-end shit, get the epic loots, AND still get to spend time with my wife an kids. (although I realize it'll be another XP grind when Hero classes are introduced)

Frax, you asked, so I'm telling ya. Razz

Don't bother. Reguardless of what you say, he'll have a negative comment about the game. Sure there's lots "bad" with it, but that's as far as he wants to see... He has no interest in seeing the positive side of WoW.

As such, I won't agrue with him about anything the game has to offer, 'cause I'll always be met with fierce negative comments that might not have any baring on anything we're talking about, but... it's included anyway.

I actually still play, as a noobie with some RL friends. The game does have some fun aspects, however they have made a totally unfun high level game.

I agree.

I took a good look at what I was doing. I was doing Scholo 5 times in a row, daily, to get a rare helmet. I never got it. I hate Scholo: the zone, the feeling of LDoN all over again--everything.

So what I have a s****y helm?

I like one thing: PVP. I like being good at it, impressing myself and others, making the organized guild groups actually try against a laughable Alliance attempt. I love it. I don't care if I win, I care if I give these guys a hard time. Maybe it's pointless--but what digitally isn't?--but it's fun. It's worth being an underdog and showing off just how much you know about what's going on around you.

I'm a Paladin, I die OOM. I have fun in WSG, equipped with gear that makes my HP less-so than some casters, yet I still thrive. That's what makes WoW fun for me, knowing I don't have MC (or nearly 'sub-par' gear) gear, yet I can still hold my own.

I love seeing MC-equipped, organized guilds suffer for half an hour trying to get a cap. I hate seeing clueless Paladins who simply see DPS as their goal.

The game is fun, you just have to find out what you like and like-minded individuals.

I like charging people 8 levels higher and winning because they never bothered to learn anything about their class.

I liked when people 8 levels higher attacked me because they read somewhere that warlocks suck in PvP and I beat them down and killed them.

I'm confused how you survive as a warlock though? You don't have as many HP or AC as melee, so you can't really take a beating. There aren't any real "root -n- scoot" tactics you have like mages do. Mostly it's drop 4 dots on your enemy and hope they don't kill you in 10 seconds, right? How do you win?

Warlocks have the most HP in the game when spec'd correctly.

And I don't know much about warlocks, but Soul Link is the devil.

A warlock can have more HP than warriors usually..

I kill warriors who have more HP than me, too. I still don't understand how low AC and slow (but consistent) damage can win in very many situations.

I have all sta/int gear so I have a ton of hp. I do sort of depend on getting fear to work at least once though. But between 141 dps from instant and almost instant spells, 15 dps of free healing, a one time instant 470 damage + 470 heal to me, a one time instant 1200 heal, one or two instant 500 pt nukes per fight, and an additional 80 dps healing plus 80 dps damage, plus something like 120 DPS from my imp nuking, that adds up to something like

- start out with something like 4-5k hp
- 340 constant DPS output
- 95 constant DPS of healing to me
- 1670 instant heals to me
- 470 instant damage to opponent
- occasional 500 pt instant nukes
- usually at least 10 seconds or so of the opponent being feared

I usually only lose in 1v1 to rogues who stunlock me before I get them under control, or sometimes priests. And druids can usually heal and run from me. But if I get first hit I usually win.

Plus I'm 300 engineering so I usually have some tricks up my sleeve.

I like ambushing people 8 levels lower and watching them squirm.

Like Sinraken said, they can heal a few times a fight with Healthstones, Death Coil, Siphon Life, and such.

All this with DOTs ticking on you, and a pet beating on you.

A warlock is an easy target for rogues, but it's not a free kill in the least bit.

Hmm, that sounds like it would work in theory, but so does a lot of stuff. I haven't gotten a warlock past 20 so I can't really argue the warlock side of it.

However! Here is my experience with warlocks:

Charge them - they're stunned for 2 to 3 seconds.
Snare
Activate deathwish (30 seconds of fear immunity)
DoT
During this time I chew 10-20% of their health off
pbae fear (if pet is doing anything worth noting). The fear also stuns warlock.
Warlock should be about 40%-20% by now
If lower than 20%, I win. Very Happy
Drink potion as needed

I guess as undead and fury spec'd I don't have to worry about fear a lot. If I were arms spec'd orc it would be different. I had a whole lot of trouble with warlocks as a druid.

I have fun tanking ppl.

Doesnt really work for rogue stunlock but cast all my instant dots then drain life them or melee depending on how i feel while my dots and pet kill them.

I usually can outlive most ppl w/ deathcoil and nf procs. And yes i have more hp then a lot of warriors.
