Chirac announced friday that the french flag would be changed in protest of the american lead war.

The Original French Flag
He was quoted as saying "We the french people, do not wish to share a flag which brandishes the red white and blue of the United States. So we have decided to change our flag for the time being, and possibly for good."
The process to find the "new" french flag, which would represent the country of france through the entire world was not an easy one.
At first, they tried just removing the blue stripe, and retaining the red stripe towards the outside edge, as is shown below.

But the french president wasnt happy with this, as it made the flag look lopsided, and just wasnt very pleasing to the eye.
So the french president decided to remove the red stripe as well to make the flag look even, and so that it would look more pleasing to the eye, being just one color. Upon seeing the end result below, the french president was quoted as saying "Now there is a flag that any french soldier would be proud to march under!"

its not like they had the colors first or anything..
you know .. while i agree, france sucks ... you have to sit back and wonder what the french are thinking about americans talking shit about them when we have a giant symbol of american freedom sitting in new york that they made

Actually, the closest I've come to defending Scotland was when I said that all they do is riot at soccer games and cater to American tourists.
