A 62% increase in the league min to $300,000! I put away my skates too early!
That floating min/max salary cap is interesting. I'm not sure the players will agree to that, but I like how it prevents teams from going on the cheap as well as loading up. We can criticize the Rangers and Red Wings all we want, but cheap clubs like Pittsburgh aren't helping the league either.

NHL is garbage. Players are far too greedy. It's not like Hockey is a huge sport with the same following as football or even baseball. Nobody builds a stadium solely for hockey. The league needs a hard cap, like football, so that the owners don't go bankrupt. I'm usually on the side of the players because it's a fair market economy, but in this case, the players are taking a proverbial shit in their own proverbial pool. If they think they can make the kind of money they're making now in Sweden or Russia, let them leave and start up a new league with a cap.
