Why has my final Fantasy XI character been deleted after 3 months of inactivity? I was play this game for some time, and I have progressed quite good. Then I was not able to play for more than 3 months, and now my character has been deleted. What is up with that? I do not understand why is this happening to me. I never heard about anything similar.

The same thing happened to me some months ago. I was playing Final Fantasy XI, and I did not have the time to play it anymore. Several months have passed, and I was really happy to gain some free time, so I can play FF XI. However, my character has been deleted. I have found that it is always done that way, so the servers and databases would not get full. The developers think that after 3 months of inactivity, the player would not return to play, and they delete the character. I was not able to return it, so I created another one and started to play from the beginning.

this also happened to my friend he lost his dark knight and had to re roll. They use to have a time where they did a return to vanadiel and u could get thouse accounts back i think. but i am not sure when or if they will do it again. your best luck is talking to a gm and seeing if u have any options.

These days you can reactivate accounts whenever you wish. I have let my account sit retired for over 2yrs and can reactivate it when I please
