I guess I like Linux. I like how almost all the differant OS's (or whatever they are called) have built in server features and stuff integrated into them, and how smooth it runs (most the time, I tryed running suse 9.2 but it crashed every 5 seconds) But it just seems easier to run windows or Mac (especially os X) then to go through all the trouble of setting up a linux OS. Not to mention the difficulty in getting your drivers right...*cough cough*, and when alot of the core's are newer they seem to crash a bunch :-\

O yah, and I don't know how to help you, sorry Sad

ya i know what you mean-

i was talking to a friend the other day who asked me if i'd ever considered running linux as my primary OSs and since then, i've been thinking if that's even possible. . . ii've taken a break from WoW and there's really no other games that i want to play at the moment, so i figure this is the perfect time to give this a shot. Unfortunatly, as good and as easy and people say they're making linux, i still can't see how a standard home user could make the switch, there's soo many complications.

There are better alternatives to linux for the server market. Look at the BSDs or Open Solaris (if you want free) ... But as far as it goes for desktop XP/OSx are about as good as it gets. At some point you have to figure out how much your time is worth. I know my time is worth at least 30/hour so I add that into the cost of linux or anything else that claims to be "free".

Glad you figured out your problem r00t. Anyways the subscription fee for Cedega is what keeps the company running for lack of any other means. I'm sure they're funded other ways but it helps you know. Also the version you pay for versus the CVS version is different in that the CVS version doesn't have the proprietary code that Transgaming uses for things like CD Locks and what have you (also the installer shit magic wizard or whatever the f**k it is that its called in Windows).
