For me it's
1. bombing mission theme - FF VII
2. opening theme - Castlevania SoTN
3. one winged angel - FF VII
4. boss fight theme - FF II (american)
5. opening theme - parasite eve
6. jenova's theme - FF VII
7. only a plank between one and perdition - FF VIII
8. zeromus - FF II (american)
9. kefka ( one winged angel - final fight) - FF III (american)
10. underwater tunnel fight vs imaginary numbers - front mission III

It used to be just s****y 8-bit tracks on video games. With the advent of CD's and other more space-efficient storage media, video game music evolved into somewhat of an art form. Often times soundtracks to video games are treated the same way as some movies "This game sucked ass but it has a GREAT f*****g soundtrack!!"
I will gladly post some of my choices here you can listen for yourself. I just have to upload them to my server.
Now then... CAN SOMEONE GET ME "VS IMAGINARY NUMBERS" PLEASE???

The first good sound tracks were mostly for the Playstation, tho FF6 really pushed the limits of what the SNES could do....

agreed.. a couple of the ones here are from the SNES FF series, and some I left out like Red Wings, etc.

SoM was good. so was the other one.. seiken densetsu 3.
But you cant beat Nobuo Uematsu.
the Final fantasy music is some of teh best ever written.
