First-Ever WWE Fantasy Game To Be Offered By World Wrestling Entertainment

Register to Compete for the Title of WWE Fantasy Champion
League Play Begins with the Monday Night RAW(R) Season Premiere on September 20

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2004-- World Wrestling Entertainment® is offering its first-ever WWE® fantasy game on wwe.com, starting with the season premier of Monday Night RAW® (Spike TV, 9 p.m. ET) on September 20, 2004. At the game's conclusion, one lucky fan will be crowned the ultimate WWE Fantasy Champion and will receive an authentic replica WWE Fantasy Championship Belt

Sign-ups are already underway on wwe.com. Game registration is $9.95 per team for 8 weeks.

STATS, Inc., the world's leading sports information provider, is powering the new game, called "WWE Fantasy Salary Cap Game(TM)." STATS, Inc. is providing web development and hosting, updated scoring and customer service for the game.

The WWE Fantasy Salary Cap Game will test contestant's skill and knowledge of WWE Superstars participating in Monday Night RAW, WWE SmackDown! (TM) (UPN, Thursday, 8 p.m. ET), Sunday Night Heat (R) (Spike TV, Sunday, 7 p.m. ET), WWE Velocity (TM) (Spike TV, Saturday, 7 p.m. ET), and Pay-Per-Views.

Each contestant will have $20 million in fantasy money to select and manage a team of WWE Superstars. Each team earns points by following storylines, matches, wins, and finishing moves. The WWE Fantasy Salary Cap title winner will be promoted as the WWE Fantasy Champion and will receive a WWE championship belt. Contestants can play alone, or compete in their own private league. Fan leader boards will be posted on wwe.com and shown on television.

"Now fans have a chance to participate in one of the fastest growing game activities online with our new WWE Fantasy Salary Cap Game," said David Knise, WWE Vice President, Interactive Development. "Fans can be a WWE Virtual GM and create their own roster of WWE Superstars. As a Virtual GM fans will be able to add or drop superstars from their roster while competing to become the first ever WWE Fantasy Champion."
